Public Hearing Witnesses Strong Support for Keonjhar Iron Ore Project

Keonjhar, (OT Webdesk): The much-anticipated public hearing for the proposed Kendudihi North Iron Ore Block witnessed overwhelming support from local stakeholders.

Held at the village ground near Kendudihi Primary School under Barbil Tehsil, Keonjhar District, the hearing focused on the production of 2.6 MTPA ROM Iron Ore and total excavation of 4.0138 MTPA over an area of 187.862 hectares.

Presided over by Rabindra Kumar Pradhan, O.A.S (S) ADM Keonjhar, the meeting saw participation from key officials, including Er. Prasanta Kumar Kar, Regional Officer, SPCB Keonjhar; Er.

Nibedita D. Bebartta, Dy. Environmental Engineer, SPCB Keonjhar, and other administrative representatives from Champua and Barbil.

Several senior executives from Rungta Mines Limited, the company allotted the auctioned virgin block, were also present.

The event saw participation from approximately 1,000 stakeholders from nearby villages, who voiced their approval of the project.

Rungta Mines Limited assured attendees of its commitment to environmental, socio-economic, and socio-cultural development in the region, urging the community to support the initiative.

With strong local backing, the company is poised to move forward with its development plans, marking a significant step in the region’s industrial and economic landscape.
