Emergency Alert! Kashmir Braces for Fallout After India-Pakistan Strikes

Operation Sindoor Kashmir Control Rooms

May 8, 2025 (OT Webdesk): In response to India’s recent missile strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (Pok), authorities in Srinagar have swiftly implemented emergency control measures.

Ten districts across Kashmir now host 24/7 control rooms aimed at monitoring developments, facilitating departmental coordination, and ensuring timely grievance redressal for residents.

A Joint Control Room has been set up at the District Emergency Operation Centre (DEOC) under the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) in Srinagar.

Officials state that these control rooms will serve as vital communication hubs for emergency services and public assistance during this period of heightened tensions.

Additionally, the Jammu and Kashmir government has placed restrictions on employee leave approvals, permitting exceptions only in extraordinary cases to maintain operational efficiency. Authorities urge residents to use the control rooms for assistance and updates on evolving security conditions.

With tensions running high, the region remains alert as officials prioritise public safety and emergency response operations.
