NAREDCO MAHI Hosts Bhubaneswar Meet: Empowering Women in Real Estate

Bhubaneswar, May 3 (OT Webdesk): NAREDCO MAHI, the women’s wing of the National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO), in collaboration with the ICC National Women’s Entrepreneurship Council (INWEC), the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), and the MSME Development and Facilitation Office (DFO) in Cuttack, successfully hosted the Bhubaneswar Meet on Day 3 of the INWEC National Women Business Mela 2.0 at the Exhibition Ground in Bhubaneswar.

The event highlighted the increasing role of women in India’s real estate and entrepreneurship sectors. Smt. Surama Padhy, the Hon’ble Speaker of the Odisha Legislative Assembly, attended as the Chief Guest, while Ms. Nitisha Mann, IAS, Deputy Director of MSME Odisha, and Ms. Sofia Firdous, Hon’ble MLA of Barabati Cuttack, served as Guests of Honour.

In her keynote address, Ms. Smita Dhanraj Patil, President of NAREDCO Mahi and Managing Director of SSPL Group, stated, “NAREDCO Mahi envisions a future where women are not just part of the real estate landscape but are leading it. Our mission is to unite women professionals across the country, foster collaboration, and enable inclusive growth in the industry. Real estate transforms communities, and women must be at the forefront of that change.”

Chief Guest Smt. Surama Padhy emphasized the importance of women taking on a central role in the growth of real estate. “Women have the power to bring transparency, ethics, and empathy to this industry,” she remarked, calling for greater leadership opportunities for women in building sustainable cities and communities.

Guest of Honour Ms. Sofia Firdous highlighted the need to break gender stereotypes in male-dominated industries like real estate. She remarked, “Women are equally capable of leading businesses and managing projects,” encouraging them to take bold steps and calling for stronger policy and ecosystem support for women entrepreneurs.

Ms. Ratnamala Swain, Vice President for the East region at NAREDCO Mahi and Managing Director of DN Homes, aptly stated, “When women support women, magic happens.” Reflecting the spirit of NAREDCO Mahi, she emphasized the importance of unity and collaboration among women leaders, adding, “At Mahi, we stand strong together, for each other,” which underscores the collective strength and shared purpose driving the organization forward.

The event also featured leadership insights from Dr. Ananta S. Raghuvanshi, Chairperson of NAREDCO Mahi. Many distinguished members were present, including Ms. Priya Shah, Vice President for the North region at NAREDCO Mahi, and Ms. Orpita Das, Assistant Vice President for the East region.
