Koraput, Odisha (OT Webdesk) – The Central University of Odisha (CUO) is set for new leadership as Professor N.C. Panda, a distinguished Sanskrit scholar, steps into the role of Acting Vice-Chancellor.
His appointment comes after the resignation of Professor Chakradhar Tripathi, which was officially accepted by the President of India.
Prof. Panda, known for his extensive academic contributions, has over three decades of experience in teaching and research. He has held multiple key positions at CUO, including Dean of all schools, Registrar, Finance Officer, and IQAC Director.
Global academic engagements include serving as a Visiting Professor in Thailand and Mauritius, enriching international discourse on Sanskrit studies.
A prolific author and researcher, Prof. Panda has penned 28 books and contributed over 145 research papers to reputed journals.
His dedication to education has been recognised with accolades such as the Sanskriti Mahamahopadhyaya Award (2024) and the Bagdevi Samman (2025).
Upon assuming office, Prof. Panda emphasised collective effort and institutional growth as key priorities for CUO. He urged faculty, students, and stakeholders to collaborate in shaping CUO’s academic future. His leadership is expected to further the university’s mission of excellence and innovation.
