Bhubaneswar, Mar 22 : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday suggested his counterparts in Chhattisgarh for an amicable solution of water disputes between the two states.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bishnu Dev Sai, on Saturday, paid a courtesy call on Odisha CM Majhi at Lok Seva Bhawan.
On this occasion, various issues were discussed between the two Chief Ministers.
Sources in Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said Majhi suggested amicable resolution of the water dispute in a cordial atmosphere.
Stating that the two states are neighbouring states and there is a linguistic and emotional similarity between both the states, the Chief Minister said that it should be resolved immediately in the interest of the people of both the states.
Sai expressed his positive opinion on this and said that he has always been in favour of amicable resolution. He opined that this problem can be resolved appropriately through dialogue.
The Chief Ministers of both the states have agreed to focus on this issue and find ways to resolve it peacefully.(UNI)
