Bhubaneswar,(Orissa Today) Jan 30: The Odisha Vigilance department conducted extensive raids on Thursday, uncovering a multi-storey building, two flats, and seven high-value plots belonging to Biswadarsi Sahoo, the ITDA Project Administrator of Bonai, Sundargarh district.
The raids were carried out following allegations that Sahoo possessed assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. In addition to the properties, officials also found two more high-value plots in Puri, 150 grams of gold, and ₹2.05 lakh in cash.
A team comprising one Additional SP, three DSPs, ten inspectors, and other supporting staff conducted simultaneous searches at seven locations in Bhubaneswar, Balasore, Jajpur, and Bonai (Sundargarh) under search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sundargarh. Among the seized assets were a double-storey house in Bhubaneswar’s Sriram Nagar, a flat in Bhagwan Tower, an advance payment of ₹15.75 lakh for an under-construction flat, nine high-value plots (seven in Bhubaneswar and two in Puri), a Tiago car, and four two-wheelers.
The Vigilance Technical Wing is currently assessing the valuation of these properties, while investigations into bank accounts, insurance, and postal deposits are ongoing. A locker in the name of Sahoo’s spouse at SBI’s Bapuji Nagar branch in Bhubaneswar is yet to be opened. The raids were conducted at Sahoo’s residential and official premises, including his government quarters in Bonai, his office at PA, ITDA, Bonai, and properties in Bhubaneswar, Balasore, and Jajpur.
