Bhubaneswar,(Orissa Today), July 11: A tragic incident occurred in Dunguripali village, under Paikamal police limits in Bargarh district, on Thursday, when a son allegedly hacked his father to death following a family dispute. The deceased, Dhananjay Ajagar, a resident of Dunguripali village, was killed by his son Vidyadhar Ajagar, who has since fled the scene.
According to sources, Dhananjay had a history of domestic violence, frequently quarreling with his wife and physically abusing her over trivial matters. This had distressed Vidyadhar, who had sent his mother to his uncle’s house to escape the daily fights.
On Thursday night, Dhananjay returned home in an inebriated state and argued with Vidyadhar over sending his wife away without his consent. The altercation escalated, and an enraged Vidyadhar attacked his father with a weapon, inflicting fatal injuries.
Dhananjay was initially taken to a nearby hospital, but was later transferred to Burla Medical College and Hospital due to his critical condition. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident, and a manhunt is underway to apprehend Vidyadhar, who remains at large.
