MLA Prashant Jagdev secures regular bail from Orissa High Court

Bhubaneswar,(Orissa Today), June 12: The Orissa High Court has granted regular bail to MLA Prashant Jagdev, according to reports on Wednesday. Jagdev received the bail in connection with the Khurda case, following an earlier interim bail granted by the Additional District Magistrate of Khurda. Senior lawyer Acharya represented Jagdev in the High Court.
On June 7, MLA Prashant Jagdev was initially granted a three-day interim bail by the Additional District Magistrate of Khurda. This interim bail, which lasted from June 9 to June 11, allowed Jagdev to participate in the swearing-in ceremony of the new government. Prabhat Kumar Das, Jagdev’s lawyer, stated that Jagdev would be released on bail after providing two sureties of Rs. 50,000 each.
Jagdev, the BJP’s MLA candidate from Khurda in the recent general election, was accused of breaking into a booth in Bolgarh on May 25 and vandalizing an EVM, leading to his arrest. Due to illness, he was admitted to the new medicine ward of Cuttack General Hospital while in jail. He was discharged from the hospital on June 9.
