Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today),June 10: With the swearing-in ceremony of Odisha’s first BJP government scheduled for June 12 at Janata Maidan in Bhubaneswar, extensive security arrangements are being implemented, and all concerned agencies are actively engaged in readiness efforts.
The Commissionerate Police has devised stringent security measures for the significant event, while authorities at Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) are ensuring smooth movement of VVIPs attending the ceremony.
Expected attendees, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers, and Chief Ministers from various BJP-ruled states, are anticipated to grace the occasion, further emphasizing the need for heightened security protocols.
Ahead of the ceremony, the Prime Minister is slated to conduct a roadshow as a gesture of gratitude to the people of Odisha for their support, necessitating additional traffic restrictions and security measures along the designated route from Jayadev Vihar to Janata Maidan.
In anticipation of the event, four police control rooms will be established at strategic locations: BPIA, along the procession route, Janata Maidan, and Mayfair Hotel, where many attending VVIPs are expected to be accommodated.
To ensure the smooth execution of the ceremony, law enforcement and traffic management will be closely monitored from two existing control rooms at the Commissionerate Police headquarters and the state secretariat. A substantial deployment of security personnel, including one IG rank officer, 13 to 14 SP rank officers, and over 70 police platoons, will be positioned to oversee proceedings.
