Bhubaneswar, (Orissa Today), May 30: In a bid to ensure orderly and peaceful voting during the conclusive phase of Lok Sabha and Assembly elections in Odisha on June 1, a significant deployment of 125 companies from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) has been arranged.
Revealing the comprehensive arrangements for the final phase at a press conference in Bhubaneswar, Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Nikunj Bihari Dhal disclosed that the highest concentration of 22 CAPF companies will be stationed in Balasore district, followed by 20 in Jajpur.
With over 99.61 lakh eligible voters set to cast their ballots in this phase, the demographic breakdown includes approximately 50.88 lakh male voters, 48.72 lakh female voters, and 6087 third-gender voters.
Six parliamentary constituencies—Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Mayurbhanj, and Jagatsinghpur—alongside 42 corresponding Assembly segments, will participate in this final electoral phase.
Elaborate measures have been implemented across 10,882 polling centers in the state to facilitate smooth voting, including the operation of 14 exclusively women-managed booths.
Over 70,000 polling personnel are slated to be engaged in the election proceedings during this concluding phase, overseeing a total of 460 candidates vying for office. Among them, 394 are contesting for Assembly seats, while 66 are competing in the six Lok Sabha constituencies.
